Description

Imagine delicate zucchini rounds transformed into irresistibly crisp chips, a delightful alternative to traditional snacks. These zucchini chips offer a satisfying crunch and a subtle, savory flavor that will keep you reaching for more. Thinly sliced zucchini provides the perfect canvas for a light coating of oil and a sprinkle of sea salt, enhancing their natural taste without overpowering it.

The key to achieving the ideal chip-like texture lies in the baking process. Slow baking at a low temperature coaxes out the moisture, resulting in a satisfyingly crisp bite. The chips should be sliced uniformly.

Too thin, and they might become overly brittle; aim for a sweet spot where they retain a slight chewiness while maintaining their delightful crispness. The result is a tender but crisp texture with light browning around the edges. These zucchini chips are incredibly versatile.

Enjoy them as a guilt-free snack straight from the oven, their subtle flavor making them a perfect standalone treat. Or, pair them with your favorite dips for an added layer of flavor and texture. Their neutral profile complements a wide range of accompaniments, from creamy avocado dip to tangy tomato salsa.

They also make a wonderful addition to a charcuterie board, adding a touch of freshness and lightness to balance richer flavors. The mild flavor of zucchini transforms into something truly special in this preparation. For optimal enjoyment, these chips are best savored fresh.

While they can be stored in an airtight container for a day or two, their crispness is most pronounced when they are first baked. The simple preparation makes them easy to whip up whenever a craving strikes, ensuring you always have a healthy and delicious snack on hand. These zucchini chips are a wonderful way to enjoy the abundance of the summer harvest or to add a touch of garden-fresh flavor to your table any time of year.

A delightful and wholesome snack, these zucchini chips are sure to become a new favorite.

Ingredients

    1.
    Zucchini
    Zucchini
    1 large
    2.
    Extra virgin olive oil
    Extra virgin olive oil
    1 tablespoon

Instructions

    1.
Preheat oven to 200 F. Slice zucchini on a mandolin into thin slices, about 1/16 inch in thickness. Do not go too thin (see-through slices will not work). Too thin of slices will become too brittle after the baking process to remove from the paper.
    2.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and brush about of the oil onto the paper. Line the paper with the zucchini slices in a single layer, it is ok if they are touching one another. Brush the tops with the remaining oil.
    3.
Sprinkle a light coating of sea salt over the tops of them. Bake for 2 hours or until light and crispy. Remove them from the oven and allow them to cool before removing them from the paper and storing them in an airtight container.
