Description

These delicate vanilla meringues offer a delightful treat for anyone seeking a lighter indulgence. Their airy texture and subtle sweetness make them an ideal choice when you desire a guilt-free dessert. These meringues boast a satisfying crispness that gives way to a melt-in-your-mouth sensation.

Each bite delivers a burst of vanilla flavor, creating a symphony of textures and tastes that will leave you wanting more. The key to achieving the perfect meringue lies in carefully following the baking instructions. The process of slowly drying the meringues at a low temperature ensures their signature crisp exterior and prevents them from browning.

This extended baking time allows the moisture to evaporate gradually, resulting in a light and airy texture that is simply irresistible. One important thing to note is that these meringues require an overnight drying period. After baking, they need to sit in the turned-off oven for several hours or even overnight to fully dry and set.

This step is crucial for achieving that perfect crispness and preventing the meringues from becoming sticky or chewy. So, be sure to factor this into your baking schedule and plan accordingly. The reward for your patience is a batch of exquisite meringues that are sure to impress.

These vanilla meringues are not only delicious but also visually appealing. Their delicate, cloud-like appearance makes them a beautiful addition to any dessert table. You can enjoy them on their own as a light and refreshing snack or use them as a garnish for cakes, parfaits, or other desserts.

Their versatility and elegance make them a perfect choice for any occasion, from casual gatherings to formal celebrations. Whether you're looking for a sweet treat to satisfy your cravings or a stunning dessert to impress your guests, these vanilla meringues are sure to delight. Their delicate flavor, airy texture, and beautiful appearance make them a truly special and unforgettable treat.

So, gather your ingredients, follow the instructions carefully, and prepare to indulge in a cloud of vanilla goodness.

    6 package
    4.
    Vanilla Extract
    Vanilla Extract
    ¼ teaspoon

Instructions

    1.
Preheat an oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large sheet tray with parchment paper. In a stand mixer, whip together the egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form. Leave the mixture in the mixer.
    2.
In a small pot over low heat, melt the stevia (3 tsp) sweetener until it is a liquid. Pour in the vanilla extract (no need to stir). The stevia melts quickly, so don't overcook!
    3.
Turn the stand mixer to a low speed and gently pour in the hot stevia liquid as the egg whites mix. Once poured in, whip the meringue on high speed for about 10 seconds until the sweetener is fully incorporated and the meringue is slightly glossy.
    4.
Fill a piping bag or zip-top bag with the meringue. Cut the corner off the bag for piping, or use a large cupcake piping tip for an appealing design. Pipe approximately 40 meringues onto the sheet tray, each about 1 1/2 inches across.
    5.
Immediately place the piped meringues into the oven. Bake for 30 minutes. Then, turn the oven off, but DO NOT open the oven or remove the sheet tray. Leave the meringues in the closed oven to dry out overnight or for a minimum of 12 hours.
    6.
The vanilla meringues should be crispy and airy by the next morning. They are delicate, so remove them from the parchment paper with care. Enjoy!
