Description

Discover a captivating coffee experience with this unique Turkish-style brew. Far removed from the usual drip or French press, this method unlocks a depth of flavor and aroma that will redefine your morning ritual. Embrace the simplicity of crafting this rich, dark coffee right on your stovetop, taking a moment to carefully remove any impurities and ensure a smooth, clean taste.

The result is a brew that captures the very essence of the coffee bean. The key to an exceptional cup lies in selecting high-quality coffee beans that release an intoxicating fragrance the moment you open the package. Aim for a coffee that delivers a rich, pure, and unadulterated flavor profile.

Turkish coffee distinguishes itself through its preparation and presentation. Traditionally brewed in a small pot, often called a cezve, it's served in delicate, diminutive glasses similar to those used for tea or espresso. While typically enjoyed dark, the addition of sweeteners or ground spices is a common practice.

For those seeking a lower-carbohydrate option, consider using liquid stevia. Otherwise, erythritol or monk fruit work well. Cardamom, a staple in Turkish coffee, lends a warm and aromatic note.

Introduce a whole cardamom pod during brewing or simply add a small pinch of ground cardamom. Feel free to explore other complementary spices to customize your cup. Cinnamon, nutmeg, or allspice can also create a comforting and flavorful experience.

This coffee is more than just a beverage; it's an invitation to savor a moment of tranquility. The process itself, from selecting the perfect beans to carefully brewing the coffee on the stovetop, becomes a mindful practice. Each sip offers a robust and intense flavor, with a satisfying, slightly gritty texture due to the finely ground coffee beans.

Allow the rich aroma and complex taste to awaken your senses and provide a delightful start to your day. Enjoy this traditional coffee experience by experimenting with different spices and sweeteners to find your perfect cup. It's an easy, yet rewarding way to elevate your daily coffee routine.

Ingredients

    1.
    Turkish Coffee, Brewed
    Turkish Coffee, Brewed
    8 fl oz

Instructions

    1.
Choose a Turkish coffee brand of your choice. If you can’t find Turkish coffee, the next best option would be Greek coffee. If you’ve never made this style of coffee before, look for imported coffees in a grocery store with an international aisle. Otherwise, you may have to make an online purchase or find a small business that sells imported Turkish items.
    2.
Add 1 tablespoon per serving of fine-ground coffee to a small pot with 4 oz of water per serving. Begin heating the water until it’s just below boiling. As you see foam begin to rise, remove it gently with a spoon. Remove all the foam or ‘scum’ off the top of the coffee, never letting the coffee reach boiling. The photo you see is an example of the foam that gets discarded from the coffee.
    3.
Stir the coffee together and add any additional ingredients you’d like. Choose your desired Keto sweetener such as powdered erythritol or zero-carb liquid stevia drops. Some Turkish coffee includes a pinch of cardamom or ground clove. Serve approximately 3 fl oz of hot black coffee per serving in a small cup or enjoy it in smaller servings like shots of espresso.
