Description

Imagine a bowl brimming with savory noodles, each strand slicked with a rich, umami-packed sauce. This simple yet satisfying dish comes together in a single pan, minimizing cleanup while maximizing flavor. The noodles themselves boast a unique texture – delightfully chewy and slightly bouncy, providing a counterpoint to the tender vegetables.

These noodles readily absorb the flavorful sauce, ensuring every bite is bursting with savory goodness. The base of this dish features finely shredded cabbage, its delicate sweetness complementing the robust flavors of ginger and garlic. Fresh ginger, minced to release its aromatic oils, infuses the dish with a warm, zesty note.

Garlic, also finely minced, adds a pungent depth that rounds out the flavor profile. The interplay of these aromatics creates a symphony of scents that will fill your kitchen. Green onions contribute both visual appeal and a fresh, herbaceous note.

The white parts are stir-fried alongside the cabbage, imparting a subtle oniony flavor. The vibrant green tops are reserved for garnish, adding a pop of color and a burst of freshness just before serving. The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity and adaptability.

Feel free to customize it with your favorite protein – sliced chicken, shrimp, or tofu would all be excellent additions. You can also adjust the level of spice to your liking by adding a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of your favorite hot sauce. The dish is incredibly versatile; serve it hot or cold, as a light lunch or a satisfying dinner.

Each strand of noodle is coated in savory goodness, creating a truly memorable and deeply comforting dish. The contrast of textures, from the chewy noodles to the tender cabbage, adds another layer of enjoyment. This is a meal that’s both easy to prepare and incredibly satisfying to eat.

Instructions

    1.
Drain the shirataki noodles and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring halfway through. Drain the noodles again to ensure they are very dry. Add sesame seed oil and toss.
    2.
In the meantime, heat half the avocado oil in a large, preheated saute pan. Add the cabbage and cook until it's barely cooked. Set aside on a plate.
    3.
Add the ground pork and let it cook on one side for at least 3-4 minutes to allow the meat to brown before stirring. Then stir and cook until there is no more pink. Add in the white parts of the green onion and ginger. Add the cabbage and noodles.
    4.
Add the michiu and tamari and cook for 5 minutes, tossing and stirring to ensure the sauce reduces and coats the noodles. Top with red pepper flakes and sesame seeds! Serve hot.
