Description

Imagine sinking your teeth into ribs that deliver a symphony of smoky and savory flavors, all achieved effortlessly in your kitchen oven. These oven-baked ribs offer a delectable alternative to traditional grilling, perfect for any time of year. The magic begins with selecting high-quality ribs, ensuring a rich, meaty foundation for the flavors to build upon.

A generous rub of carefully selected spices creates a tantalizing crust, infusing the meat with depth and warmth as it bakes. The method involves a slow and steady bake, allowing the ribs to tenderize beautifully. As the meat gently simmers in its own juices, the connective tissues break down, resulting in a succulent, fall-off-the-bone texture.

The rendered fat bastes the ribs from within, adding moisture and intensifying the savory taste. The extended cooking time also allows the smoky notes to fully permeate the meat, creating a truly unforgettable culinary experience. The final stage involves a burst of high heat, crisping the exterior to a delightful mahogany hue.

This creates a wonderful contrast between the tender, juicy interior and the slightly caramelized, flavorful crust. The aroma alone is enough to make your mouth water, hinting at the irresistible flavors that await. Serve these oven-baked ribs with your favorite sides for a complete and satisfying meal.

Whether you prefer a classic coleslaw, creamy mashed potatoes, or grilled vegetables, these ribs are sure to be the star of the show. Perfect for a casual weeknight dinner or a weekend gathering with friends and family, these ribs are guaranteed to impress. Prepare to be amazed by how easily you can achieve restaurant-quality ribs in the comfort of your own home.

Instructions

    1.
In a bowl, combine the salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne, garlic, and thyme.
    2.
Prepare the rack of ribs on a flat, clean surface. Rub the ribs down with olive oil. Then, apply the spice mix to the top of the ribs. Use your fingers to rub the spices into the meat.
    3.
Tightly wrap the seasoned ribs in aluminum foil. Place the ribs in the refrigerator. Allow them to marinate for up to 12 hours, but preferably overnight.
    4.
When ready to cook the ribs, preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Without unwrapping the ribs, place them, foil and all, in the oven. Let the ribs cook for about 3 hours. After baking, remove the ribs from the foil and place them in a sprayed baking pan. Slice a tablespoon of butter into 4-5 slices, and place them on top of the ribs.
    5.
Turn the oven heat up to 375 degrees. Place the tray of ribs, uncovered, in the oven. Bake the ribs for about 25 minutes or until the tops of the ribs are browned and crispy.
    6.
Allow the ribs to cool slightly before eating. Enjoy!
