Description

This creamy dip offers a delightful twist on a classic favorite, making it a perfect addition to any gathering or a satisfying snack any time of day. Instead of traditional chickpeas, this recipe uses silken tofu as its base, resulting in a smooth, velvety texture that is both light and rich. The subtle flavor of the tofu allows the other ingredients to truly shine.

The nutty notes of tahini blend seamlessly with the bright, zesty lemon juice, creating a harmonious balance of flavors. A hint of garlic adds a pleasant warmth, while cumin provides an earthy undertone that enhances the overall complexity of the dip. A drizzle of olive oil not only contributes to the luxurious texture but also adds a fruity aroma that is simply irresistible.

The beauty of this dip lies in its simplicity and versatility. It comes together in just minutes, making it an ideal option for those busy days when you crave something delicious and wholesome. Serve it chilled with an assortment of crisp, raw vegetables like cucumber slices, bell pepper strips, and carrot sticks for a refreshing and healthy snack.

Alternatively, pair it with your favorite crunchy crackers for a satisfyingly textured experience. This silken tofu dip is best enjoyed fresh, allowing you to fully appreciate its delicate flavors and creamy consistency. While it can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to two days, its texture may change slightly over time.

Please note that this dip is not suitable for freezing. Whether you're looking for a lighter alternative to traditional hummus or simply seeking a flavorful and nutritious dip, this silken tofu creation is sure to please. Its smooth texture, vibrant flavors, and easy preparation make it a winning recipe that you'll want to make again and again.

Instructions

    1.
Crush the garlic clove and add it to a deep jar or blender's pitcher. Add the tofu, tahini, lemon juice, cumin, and salt. Using a hand blender, blend for 1 minute until the dip is very smooth.
    2.
While holding the hand blender in one hand, drizzle 2 tbsp of olive oil using your other hand. This process is called emulsification, and it results in thick and fluffy hummus. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
    3.
To serve, transfer the dip to a small bowl, and use the back of a spoon to swirl the top. Drizzle ½ tbsp of olive oil, and garnish with fresh mint leaves and a pinch of sumac. Serve with raw vegetables or Keto crackers.
