Description

Imagine starting your day with the rich, comforting flavors of pumpkin spice swirling through your coffee. This homemade pumpkin spice cold brew is a delightful and simple way to elevate your daily coffee ritual. Forget the overly sweet, artificial syrups – this recipe focuses on fresh, natural ingredients that will tantalize your taste buds.

The star of this drink is the pumpkin spice milk, a creamy concoction made with a blend of almond milk, a touch of richness from whole dairy, real pumpkin puree, and a medley of aromatic spices. The pumpkin milk is intensely flavored, designed to perfectly complement the boldness of cold brew coffee. The combination of the chilled coffee and the spiced pumpkin milk creates a harmonious balance of flavors.

The coolness of the coffee mellows the spices, while the pumpkin adds a subtle sweetness and a velvety texture. It's a comforting, autumnal experience in every sip. For the coffee itself, you have options.

If you have a coffee machine with a cold brew function, that's a convenient choice. Alternatively, you can brew your favorite coffee blend and let it steep overnight in the refrigerator. Another method is to use a French press, allowing the grounds to steep for an extended period, typically 24 hours or more.

Cold brew coffee is known for its robust flavor, as the long steeping time extracts more flavor and caffeine. The result is a smoother, less acidic cup of coffee. Once your coffee is ready, simply combine it with the pumpkin spice milk to your liking.

Pour the mixture into your favorite mug and enjoy the delightful fusion of flavors. This pumpkin spice cold brew is a simple yet satisfying way to enjoy a seasonal favorite from the comfort of your own home.

Instructions

    1.
The quickest way to make this recipe is to use premade cold brew, whether that your own homebrew or something you buy at a store. If you have to make cold brew first, make it long enough in advance so there time for the cold brew to chill. You can refer to the recipe introduction to guide you through some different ways to make cold brew coffee.
    2.
Next, to make the pumpkin milk, heat almond milk, heavy cream, and canned pumpkin together until the liquid just reaches a simmer. Stir the ingredients together and add in vanilla extract, pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and liquid stevia, then adjust the pumpkin milk to your taste, but remember you want very rich flavors to flavor your coffee. Take the pumpkin milk off of the heat and use a hand immersion blender to fully blend the milk together. Allow the pumpkin milk to cool completely in your refrigerator before using it in any iced coffee.
    3.
To make your pumpkin spice cold brew, fill a 12-ounce glass or larger with ice (or you can omit the ice). Pour approximately cup of cold pumpkin milk over the ice, then follow by pouring your cold brew into the glass all the way to the top. You may need to stir the pumpkin milk to evenly distribute it into the coffee.
