Description

Imagine tender slices of New York strip steak, each a canvas for layers of savory delight. This dish begins with expertly cut steaks, ensuring a delicate texture that practically melts in your mouth. If you can't find pre-cut steaks, simply slice a thick, boneless strip steak in half to achieve the ideal thinness.

Each steak is then transformed into a masterpiece, generously adorned with a blanket of melted parmesan cheese. The parmesan, known for its sharp, nutty flavor, creates a rich and creamy topping that perfectly complements the steak's inherent juiciness. But the magic doesn't stop there.

Beneath the surface, a layer of crispy, golden-brown cheese forms, adding a delightful textural contrast to the tender steak and the smooth, melted parmesan above. This crispy layer provides a satisfying crunch and an intensified cheesy flavor that elevates the entire dish. The combination of textures is truly extraordinary.

The tender, yielding steak gives way to the creamy, melted parmesan, followed by the delightful snap of the crispy cheese layer. Each bite is a symphony of sensations, keeping your palate engaged and wanting more. Beyond the textures, the flavors are equally captivating.

The beefy richness of the New York strip steak is enhanced by the savory, umami notes of the parmesan cheese. The slight saltiness of the cheese further accentuates the steak's natural flavors, creating a harmonious balance that is both satisfying and unforgettable. The golden-brown cheese adds a roasted, almost caramelized flavor that deepens the complexity of the dish, making it a truly gourmet experience.

This dish is not only delicious but also visually appealing. The contrast between the deep brown of the steak, the creamy white of the melted parmesan, and the golden hue of the crispy cheese creates a stunning presentation that is sure to impress. Whether you're preparing a romantic dinner for two or a special meal for your family, this recipe is guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser.

It's a celebration of simple ingredients transformed into something truly extraordinary, a testament to the power of flavor and texture when combined with skill and passion.

Instructions

    1.
Lay two boneless strip steaks on a flat, clean surface. Drizzle the olive oil across the exposed sides. Sprinkle the first amounts of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder across the exposed sides as well.
    2.
In a medium sized skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Place the steaks in the skillet, seasoned side down. Sprinkle the second amount of salt and pepper over the tops of the steaks. Place the rosemary on top as well.
    3.
Cover the skillet with a lid, and cook the steaks for about 5 minutes. Just before flipping, sprinkle about 1 TB of the parmesan cheese over each steak. Then, flip the steaks overs. Push the rosemary to the side of the skillet, and sprinkle the remaining parmesan cheese over the newly exposed steak.
    4.
Keep the lid on the skillet, and cook the steak for another 3-4 minutes. This is enough time to let the exposed cheese melt and the cheese under the steak crisp up to a slightly-crunchy, golden brown color.
    5.
Enjoy immediately. Don forget to scrape up any fried cheese onto the steaks while serving!
