Description

These oven-baked kale chips redefine healthy snacking with their satisfying crunch and savory flavor. Imagine transforming humble kale leaves into a delightful treat that rivals traditional potato chips. The magic lies in coaxing out the natural flavors of the kale while achieving an irresistible crispness.

Each bite delivers a burst of earthy goodness, complemented by a subtle saltiness that tantalizes the taste buds. The texture is key: these aren't just wilted greens; they are light, airy crisps that shatter delicately in your mouth. This recipe transforms leafy greens into a gourmet experience.

Forget heavy, greasy snacks – these kale chips offer a guilt-free indulgence that satisfies cravings without compromising your well-being. The vibrant green color of the baked kale is visually appealing, making them a welcome addition to any table. They're perfect as a standalone snack for movie nights or afternoon cravings.

Beyond snacking, these kale chips offer a creative culinary twist. Instead of croutons, try crumbling them over your favorite soup to add a salty, textural counterpoint. Sprinkle them on salads for an unexpected crunch and a boost of nutrients.

Or, get adventurous and use them as a garnish for grilled fish or roasted vegetables. Creating these crispy delights at home is surprisingly easy, and it allows you to control the ingredients and level of seasoning. You can experiment with different herbs and spices to customize the flavor to your liking.

A sprinkle of garlic powder, a dash of smoked paprika, or a pinch of red pepper flakes can elevate these chips to new heights. Enjoy the satisfaction of making a wholesome snack from scratch, knowing exactly what goes into each delicious bite. From the vibrant color to the satisfying crunch, these kale chips are a testament to the fact that healthy eating can be both delicious and exciting.

Ingredients

    1.
    Kale
    Kale
    6 ounce
    2.
    Olive Oil
    Olive Oil
    ⅓ cup
    3.
    Kosher Salt
    Kosher Salt
    1 teaspoon

Instructions

    1.
Preheat oven to 350 F. Strip kale leaves from their stems and rip each leaf into small pieces. The leaves do not need to be perfect.
    2.
Wash the leaves and dry in a salad spinner. If you do not have a salad spinner, lay them flat to dry on a sheet tray and tap dry with paper towels.
    3.
Place kale leaves in a bowl and toss well with olive oil and salt.
    4.
Distribute leaves between 2 sheet trays. You do not want the leaves to touch very much so they will get nice and crispy. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until light, slightly browned and very crispy!
    5.
    Enjoy your homemade kale chips.
