Description

Imagine sinking your teeth into a juicy, miniature cheeseburger where the traditional bun is replaced by savory, earthy mushroom caps. These delightful bites offer a unique textural experience, contrasting the tender, seasoned beef with the slightly chewy, substantial mushrooms. Each element complements the other, creating a harmonious blend of flavors.

The melted Swiss cheese drapes itself luxuriously over the patty, adding a nutty, creamy richness that elevates the burger to a new level of sophistication. These mini mushroom swiss burgers are incredibly versatile, perfect as a crowd-pleasing appetizer at your next gathering or as a satisfying component of a light meal. Their diminutive size makes them ideal for sampling and sharing, allowing everyone to indulge without feeling overly full.

Whether you're a seasoned burger aficionado or simply looking for a new and exciting culinary adventure, these mini mushroom swiss burgers are sure to impress. Instructions

    1.
Select 2 medium-sized cremini mushrooms per serving and remove the stems. Slice each mushroom cap in half horizontally to create burger buns. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced mushroom caps with salt, pepper, garlic, and olive oil. Wrap the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 60) to marinate.
    2.
Preheat an oven to 375 degrees. In a new mixing bowl, mix ground beef, salt, pepper, onion powder, and paprika. Form 2 mini burger patties per serving by shaping the mixture into 1.5 - 2 inch meatballs, then flattening them into patties. Place the mini burgers on a baking rack set over a sheet tray to catch drippings.
    3.
Bake the burgers for 15 minutes for medium-well done, flipping them over after the first 10 minutes. When you flip the burgers, lay quarter-slice pieces of Swiss cheese over each patty before cooking for the remaining 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
    4.
After the burgers have cooled enough to handle, place each patty on the bottom piece of a marinated mushroom cap. Top each burger off with the remaining mushroom cap halves, and secure with toothpicks to hold them together.
