Description

Imagine biting into a warm, crusty roll, the subtle heat of jalapeno dancing on your tongue, perfectly balanced by the rich, savory flavor of melted cheese. This isn't just bread; it's an experience. These delectable cheese bread rolls boast a beautifully browned exterior that gives way to a soft, slightly chewy interior, studded with vibrant pieces of diced jalapeno.

The cheese, melted to gooey perfection, forms a delightful crust that crackles with each bite, adding a satisfying textural contrast to the pillowy crumb within. Each roll is a symphony of flavors, the sharpness of the cheese harmonizing with the gentle kick of the pepper, creating a taste that is both comforting and exciting. Whether enjoyed warm from the oven or at room temperature, these rolls are incredibly versatile.

They make a delightful accompaniment to a crisp, refreshing salad, adding a touch of indulgence to a lighter meal. Or, for an extra creamy treat, spread them generously with cream cheese, allowing the tangy richness of the cheese to complement the savory bread. For those who enjoy a spicier kick, feel free to experiment with different types of peppers.

Serrano or canned chipotle peppers can be used to crank up the heat, while milder options like poblano or Anaheim peppers offer a more subtle warmth. The type of cheese can also be adapted to your liking. While Chihuahua cheese lends a mild, slightly tangy flavor, mozzarella provides a classic, melty texture.

Pepper jack cheese adds an extra layer of spice, while sharp cheddar or Colby Jack offer a more robust, savory flavor. For a different textural element, try incorporating small cubes of your favorite block cheese. Due to their high moisture content, these cheese bread rolls are best enjoyed within two days of baking.

To prolong their freshness, simply freeze them and reheat individual slices in the microwave whenever a craving strikes. This ensures you always have a warm, flavorful roll on hand, ready to satisfy your hunger or complement any meal. These rolls are more than just a bread substitute; they're a celebration of flavor and texture, perfect for anyone seeking a delicious and satisfying experience.

Instructions

    1.
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Combine the almond flour, psyllium husk powder, kosher salt, baking powder, jalapeno, and shredded cheese in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Add the egg whites. Mix well using a paddle attachment. It may take a minute for the mixture to come together.
    2.
Combine the apple cider vinegar and boiling water. Slowly add the hot water into the bread mixture as the paddle is turning. Beat the mixture on a medium speed until the water is absorbed.
    3.
Divide the dough into eight equal portions. Wet your hands and roll them each into a ball. Place them onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Then bake them for 50-55 minutes until puffed and do not deflate as they exit the oven.
