Description

Experience the comforting flavors of lasagna in a novel, satisfying way. This reimagined classic skips the traditional pasta, offering a delightful alternative that doesn't compromise on taste or texture. Instead of layers of noodles, thinly sliced Italian-style roast beef forms the foundation of each roll, providing a savory and robust flavor.

Each slice of beef is generously filled with a warm, luscious mixture of fresh spinach and creamy ricotta cheese. The spinach, lightly sautéed, retains a subtle earthiness that complements the richness of the ricotta. A hint of butter adds a luxurious note, enhancing the overall indulgence of the filling.

This vibrant combination creates a beautiful contrast of colors and textures within each roll. Once assembled, the beef rolls are lovingly draped in a blanket of melted mozzarella and parmesan cheeses. The mozzarella provides a smooth, stretchy quality, while the parmesan adds a sharp, salty tang.

As the lasagna bakes, the cheese melts and bubbles, creating a golden-brown crust that is irresistible. The aroma that fills your kitchen is a testament to the comforting and satisfying nature of this dish. The result is a hearty and flavorful experience.

The tender beef, the creamy spinach-ricotta filling, and the gooey, melted cheese combine to create a symphony of flavors and textures that will leave you feeling completely satisfied. This lasagna is a perfect main course for a cozy night in, or a delightful dish to share with friends and family. Serve these lasagna rolls with a crisp side salad for a complete and balanced meal.

Alternatively, allow them to cool completely before storing them in airtight containers for convenient meal preparation throughout the week. Whether enjoyed fresh from the oven or reheated later, this reimagined lasagna is a delicious and satisfying way to enjoy a classic Italian flavor.

Instructions

    1.
Melt the butter in a wide pan over low heat on the stove. Cook whole spinach leaves in the butter with minced garlic, stirring until the spinach leaves turn bright green and fully wilt. Set aside.
    2.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spread the marinara sauce across the base of a glass 13x9 baking dish. Lay down a thick-sliced piece of roast beef horizontally. Spread ricotta cheese on the left side of the roast beef. Arrange spinach filling over the ricotta cheese.
    3.
Roll the lasagna roll up, starting at the side with the filling. Place the finished roll in the marinara sauce with the seam tucked under. Repeat the filling process for all lasagna rolls. Sprinkle italian seasoning and oregano over the lasagna rolls. Spread shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan over the rolls.
    4.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 35 minutes. Then, bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes. For extra browning, bake under the broiler to your preference. Serve the rolls hot.
