Description

This iced tea is a wonderfully refreshing and flavorful drink, perfect for a warm day or anytime you crave a revitalizing beverage. The foundation of this drink is a blend of green tea and fresh peppermint, creating a crisp and aromatic base. The green tea provides a slightly grassy and earthy undertone, which is beautifully complemented by the cool, clean taste of peppermint.

A hint of lime juice adds a bright, citrusy zing that awakens the palate and balances the other flavors. The lime not only enhances the overall taste but also contributes a subtle tartness that keeps the sweetness in check. To achieve the perfect level of sweetness, a low-carb sweetener is used, ensuring a guilt-free indulgence.

Feel free to adjust the amount to your liking, finding the perfect balance for your taste preferences. What truly elevates this iced tea is the addition of coconut milk. A splash of coconut milk introduces a creamy texture and a subtle tropical flavor that ties all the elements together.

The coconut milk adds a luxurious smoothness that transforms this beverage from a simple iced tea into a decadent treat. The result is a layered flavor profile that is both complex and incredibly satisfying. The initial taste is a burst of refreshing mint and citrus, followed by the gentle earthiness of green tea, and finally, the creamy, sweet finish of coconut milk.

This iced tea is incredibly versatile. You can easily tailor it to your personal preferences by experimenting with different types of green tea, herbs, and citrus fruits. Consider using lemon instead of lime, or adding other herbs like cinnamon or cloves for a warmer, more spiced flavor.

For a richer, more intense sweetness, sugar-free maple syrup can be used. Whatever variations you choose, this iced tea is sure to become a staple in your beverage rotation.

Instructions

    1.
Add the water to a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from the heat and add the green tea bags. Roughly tear the mint and add to the saucepan along with the erythritol and stir well to combine and dissolve the sweetener.
    2.
Let the tea infuse for 5 minutes then carefully remove the teabags from the brewed tea. Pass the tea through a fine-mesh sieve into a glass pitcher and discard the mint leaves. Set aside to cool then cover and refrigerate for two hours until chilled.
    3.
Divide the chilled tea evenly between four serving glasses and stir in a teaspoon of lime juice into each glass. Divide the coconut milk evenly between the four glasses, stir, taste, and adjust sweetness and lime juice as desired. Serve immediately, optionally with ice cubes.
