Description

These jalapeno poppers are a remarkably simple and satisfying snack or appetizer, requiring minimal preparation and cooking time. Imagine biting into a warm, creamy filling encased in a slightly softened jalapeno pepper, all wrapped in crispy bacon. The combination of textures and flavors is truly irresistible, making them a crowd-pleasing favorite for gatherings or a delightful treat any time of day.

Perfect for game day celebrations, casual get-togethers, or simply as a flavorful snack, these poppers are incredibly versatile. Their ease of preparation makes them ideal for making in large quantities, allowing you to effortlessly cater to a crowd. Preparing them in advance is a breeze, further simplifying your hosting duties and letting you enjoy the party alongside your guests.

For a delightful crispy exterior and a golden-brown finish, air frying is highly recommended. The rapid circulation of hot air ensures even cooking and a satisfying crunch with every bite. Alternatively, baking in the oven yields equally delicious results, offering a slightly softer texture while maintaining the integrity of the filling.

If you opt to bake them, keep a close watch to prevent the bacon from burning and ensure the cheese is melted and bubbly. Leftovers, if there are any, can be easily reheated in the microwave, although they are best enjoyed fresh. The warmth slightly softens the bacon, but the overall flavor remains remarkably consistent.

To revive some of the crispness, consider briefly broiling them or reheating them in a toaster oven. The recipe calls for a blend of flavorful cheeses, such as Monterey Jack, cheddar, and quesadilla cheese, that melt beautifully and provide a savory foundation for the jalapeno's mild heat. This harmonious blend of flavors is what elevates these poppers from ordinary to extraordinary.

The bacon, whether thick-cut or thinly sliced, adds a smoky depth and a delightful textural contrast to the creamy filling and tender pepper. Enjoy these flavorful poppers as a delightful snack. The combination of creamy cheese, spicy jalapeno, and crispy bacon creates a symphony of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving more.

They are the perfect appetizer to kickstart any gathering or a satisfying snack to enjoy on your own.

    4 large - approx 4" - 6" long

Instructions

    1.
Start with raw bacon, and dice it into small pieces. Slab bacon or pre-sliced bacon can work. Cook the bacon in a pan on your stove until it ’s very crispy. The smaller the pieces of bacon are, the better it will be for the recipe.
    2.
While the bacon is cooling for a little, use a fork to mash room temperature cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Add shredded Mexican blend cheese to the cream cheese, as well as the bacon. Stir the ingredients together until you have an even mixture to fill your jalapenos with.
    3.
Slice large jalapenos into halves and deseed them. Pack each jalapeno with the cream cheese filling, making sure each pepper is densely filled. Turn on an air fryer to preheat at 350 F (180 C), and arrange the jalapeno poppers on your air fryer tray. Cook the jalapeno poppers for 6-8 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and the jalapenos are tender.
