Description

Imagine sinking your teeth into a truly satisfying burger, a juicy explosion of flavors and textures that redefines comfort food. This recipe brings that experience to life, offering a hearty and delicious meal that doesn't compromise on taste. At its heart are two substantial cheeseburgers, each patty cooked to perfection and oozing with melted cheese.

The beef, whether sourced as convenient pre-made patties or freshly ground from your favorite cut, boasts a rich, savory flavor that forms the foundation of this culinary creation. The beauty of this recipe lies in its ability to deliver the classic burger experience while offering a lighter alternative to traditional buns. Instead of heavy bread, the burgers are nestled between light and airy cloud bread.

These delicate slices provide a soft, yielding texture that complements the savory patties and melted cheese without weighing you down. This combination creates a delightful contrast, where the richness of the beef is balanced by the ethereal lightness of the bread. Each bite is a symphony of flavors and sensations, a dance between savory, salty, and subtly sweet.

The melted cheese adds a creamy, decadent touch, while any desired toppings, such as crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, or tangy pickles, can further enhance the overall experience. Whether you're looking for a satisfying weeknight dinner or a crowd-pleasing weekend treat, this burger recipe is sure to impress. Its simplicity makes it accessible to cooks of all skill levels, while its customizable nature allows you to tailor it to your personal preferences.

Prepare to be amazed by the way familiar flavors can be transformed into something truly special, a burger that's both indulgent and wholesome.

Instructions

    1.
Begin by setting aside 4 slices of prepared cloud bread. Finely chop pickles and combine with mayonnaise and ketchup to create the special burger sauce. Reserve approximately 1/3 of the sauce for later, and keep the remaining 2/3 for the next step.
    2.
In a skillet over low heat, melt half of the butter. Place 2 slices of cloud bread in the melted butter to toast lightly, about 30 seconds. Repeat with the remaining butter and cloud bread slices. Spread the larger portion of the special sauce evenly over all 4 toasted slices.
    3.
Evenly distribute lettuce over 2 slices of the sauced cloud bread. These will serve as the bottom buns for your double steak burgers.
    4.
Have 4 cube steak patties ready. If using pre-made patties, ensure they are thin. Heat half of the oil in the skillet used before over high heat and place 2 patties in the skillet. Sprinkle half of the salt and pepper over the exposed sides of the patties.
    5.
Use a spatula to press down on the patties. This ensures they remain thin, removes excess grease, and creates blackened edges. Cook for 4-5 minutes, adjusting the heat as needed.
    6.
Flip the patties. Sprinkle approximately 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over each patty. Cover the skillet with a lid to help the cheese melt. Cook for approximately 3 more minutes, or until the patties are cooked through to medium-well done.
    7.
Transfer one cooked, cheesy patty to a prepared cloud bread bun with lettuce. Spoon half of the remaining special sauce onto the patty. Top with the second cooked patty. Expect melted cheese and warm sauce!
    8.
Repeat steps 4-7 to cook the remaining 2 patties with the last of the oil, salt, pepper, and special sauce. Transfer all cooked patties to your cloud bread buns to assemble the second burger.
    9.
Serve immediately and enjoy your low-carb creation! Feel free to add additional keto-friendly toppings like spinach, mustard, or jalapenos. And don't forget the extra napkins!
