Description

This brittle is an irresistible treat, offering a satisfying snap with every bite. Its unique formulation allows you to indulge without the guilt of traditional sugary sweets. As it cooks, the sweetener transforms, creating a rich, caramelized flavor reminiscent of brown sugar.

This deep, warm note beautifully complements the bittersweetness of the chocolate, creating a harmonious balance of flavors that dance on your palate. The texture is a delightful contrast of smooth, melted chocolate against the crisp, airy brittle. Imagine the initial crack as you break off a piece, followed by the melt-in-your-mouth sensation of the chocolate mingling with the delicate, crunchy base.

The caramelized undertones add a layer of complexity, enhancing the overall sensory experience. It's a symphony of textures and tastes that will leave you craving more. This brittle is perfect as a standalone treat, a delightful addition to a dessert platter, or a thoughtful homemade gift.

Its sophisticated flavor profile makes it suitable for any occasion, from casual gatherings to elegant celebrations. You can also break it into smaller pieces and sprinkle it over ice cream or yogurt for an extra touch of decadence. The possibilities are endless!

Beyond its exquisite taste and texture, this brittle offers a sense of mindful indulgence. Knowing that you can savor such a delicious treat without compromising your dietary goals adds to the overall enjoyment. It's a sweet escape that nourishes both your body and your soul.

Prepare to be amazed by how something so incredibly satisfying can also be so good for you. Each bite is a testament to the fact that you can have it all – flavor, texture, and a guilt-free experience – in one delightful confection. This brittle redefines the boundaries of sugar-free desserts, proving that healthy choices can be just as, if not more, delicious than their traditional counterparts.

It's a treat you can feel good about sharing with loved ones, knowing that you're offering them a moment of pure, unadulterated joy.

Instructions

    1.
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). In a large bowl, combine almond flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, baking powder, egg, and melted butter. Mix well with a fork until fully incorporated.
    2.
Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out to a thickness of about 1/8 inch.
    3.
Use a pizza cutter or knife to score the dough into 2-inch squares. Bake for 35 minutes, or until lightly golden and firm to the touch. Let cool completely.
    4.
While the crackers are cooling, combine 1/2 cup of butter and 3/4 cup of sweetener in a small saucepan. Melt over low heat.
    5.
Once the butter is melted, bring the mixture to a boil and continue boiling for about 7 minutes, until it turns an amber color and emits a delicious aroma.
    6.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). While the butter mixture is boiling, break the cooled crackers and arrange them on a 10x15 inch rimmed baking sheet lined with foil and sprayed with coconut oil. Fit the crackers as closely as possible, breaking them as needed.
    7.
Once the butter mixture is amber-colored, remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt. Pour evenly over the crackers, using a small offset spatula to spread if necessary. Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the mixture is bubbling. Be cautious when removing from the oven as it will be liquidy. Cool slightly, then refrigerate until set.
    8.
In the meantime, combine the coconut oil and chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals until the chocolate is melted. Pour over the cooled crackers and spread evenly with a small offset spatula. Sprinkle with sliced almonds.
    9.
Return the baking sheet to the refrigerator to chill until firm enough to break into pieces. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
