Description

Imagine starting your day with a warm, golden waffle, its delicate aroma filling the kitchen. These waffles are surprisingly simple to create, requiring only a bowl, a whisk, and your trusty waffle maker. The batter comes together quickly, promising a delightful breakfast (or brunch, or even dinner!

) in mere minutes. For those who appreciate a bit of extra crunch, a brief stint in the oven transforms the waffle's exterior into a satisfyingly crisp shell, contrasting beautifully with the soft, airy interior. While these waffles are undeniably best enjoyed fresh off the iron, their convenience extends to reheating as well, offering a quick and easy treat any time of day.

The beauty of a waffle lies in its versatility. A blank canvas for your culinary creativity, it invites a myriad of toppings to suit your mood and preferences. Picture a generous scattering of fresh, juicy berries, their sweetness complementing the subtle richness of the waffle.

Or perhaps a dollop of lightly sweetened whipped cream, its velvety texture adding a touch of indulgence. For those who enjoy a classic pairing, a drizzle of sugar-free maple syrup provides the perfect amount of sweetness without overpowering the waffle's inherent flavor. But the possibilities don't end there.

Venture into the savory realm and explore the delightful combination of these waffles with a creamy hollandaise sauce, transforming them into an elegant and satisfying meal. The sauce's tangy richness melds seamlessly with the waffle's texture, creating a symphony of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds. To achieve the perfect waffle – a crispy exterior that yields to a tender, almost cake-like interior – a few simple techniques can make all the difference.

Ensure your waffle iron is evenly heated before pouring in the batter. Once cooked, resist the urge to immediately remove the waffle; instead, allow it to cool slightly in the iron. This crucial step helps to further crisp the outside, resulting in a waffle that is truly exceptional.

Instructions

    1.
Combine the dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Briefly whisk them to combine the ingredients. You can also sift the dry ingredients together.
    2.
In a separate bowl or container, mix together the wet ingredients. Whisk until smooth. Then, add the wet to the dry ingredients.
    3.
Whisk the ingredients together until the batter is smooth. In the meantime, prepare a waffle iron heat on hot. Keep in mind the waffle will need to rest in the hot iron as it cools so you may want to choose a setting that is slightly lower than needed to allow it to finish cooking once the iron is off.
    4.
Spray your waffle iron well with coconut non-stick spray. Add of the batter to the iron. Set the iron and follow the iron directions for cooking.
    5.
Once cooked, turn off the iron or unplug it and allow the iron to cool for at least 3-4 minutes. Gently open the waffle iron. Use a spatula to start removing the top part of the waffle from the iron to release it.
    6.
Remove the waffle and begin to heat the iron for the next waffle, making sure the iron is hot before adding the next round of batter after spraying it again with non-stick spray. Repeat the cooking process for the remaining waffles. Serve with butter or sugar-free maple-flavored syrup!
