Description

Imagine plump, juicy shrimp, bathed in a vibrant, tangy buffalo sauce. This recipe delivers the ultimate spicy shrimp experience, perfect as a snack, appetizer, or a protein-packed addition to your favorite dishes. The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity.

Begin by seasoning the shrimp with your preferred blend of spices, coaxing out their natural sweetness. A quick sauté on the stovetop ensures they remain tender and succulent. The real magic happens when you introduce the homemade buttery buffalo sauce.

Its rich, fiery flavor clings to every curve and crevice of the shrimp. The choice of hot sauce is yours, allowing you to customize the heat level to your preference. The cooking method ensures that the buffalo sauce doesn't just coat the shrimp; it becomes one with it.

As the shrimp simmers in the sauce, it absorbs the vibrant flavors, creating a truly infused culinary experience. This crucial step prevents the sauce from separating, guaranteeing that each bite is bursting with tangy, spicy goodness. These buffalo shrimp are incredibly versatile.

Serve them as a standalone appetizer, skewered on toothpicks alongside other delectable finger foods. Crisp celery sticks provide a refreshing counterpoint to the heat, while briny green olives, creamy blue cheese crumbles, or tangy pickle chips complement the buffalo flavor profile beautifully. Consider adding these spicy shrimp to your favorite recipes.

They're a fantastic addition to pizzas, salads, or wraps, adding a zesty kick to any meal. For a cooling contrast, serve with a homemade blue cheese or ranch dipping sauce. Each bite offers a delightful balance of flavors and textures: the tender shrimp, the bold buffalo sauce, and the crisp, cool accompaniments.

Whether you're entertaining guests or simply craving a flavorful snack, these buffalo shrimp are sure to satisfy.

Instructions

    1.
Make the buffalo sauce first by melting the butter in a small pot over low heat. Choose a red hot sauce that is the brand Frank’s Red Hot or similar. Tabasco sauce isn’t the best choice for this recipe, but you may include some if you enjoy the flavor. Pour your preferred hot sauce into the pot of melted butter, and stir over the heat until the sauce comes together and heats through. Once the sauce has fully heated through, you can set it aside for later.
    2.
Peel and devein jumbo shrimp, and add them to a small mixing bowl. Toss the raw shrimp with seasoned salt and olive oil until the shrimp is coated. From here you can add any additional spices you enjoy with your buffalo sauce. Some suggestions are black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, or dried ground herbs. You may wish to marinate the shrimp for up to 30 minutes, or you can continue on to the final step.
    3.
Heat a small pan over medium-high heat. When the pan is hot, place the marinated shrimp in the pan. Cook the shrimp on one side until they just turn golden. Flip the shrimp over and cook to the same doneness on the other side in the pan. Then, reduce the heat to medium, and pour 2-3 tablespoons of buffalo sauce into the pan. Toss and fry the shrimp in the buffalo sauce until you see the sauce cooked into the flesh. Take the pan off the stove, toss the shrimp with the remaining buffalo sauce, and serve immediately.
