Description

Savor the delightful simplicity of beef kebabs, where tender steak meets earthy mushrooms in a symphony of flavors. Each bite offers a succulent experience, enhanced by a marinade that whispers of the Mediterranean. Diced steak pieces luxuriate in a blend of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, pungent garlic, and the herbaceous notes of rosemary and thyme.

This aromatic concoction tenderizes the beef, infusing it with a depth of flavor that's both comforting and intriguing. The marinated steak is then threaded onto skewers, alternating with slices of cremini mushrooms. As they cook, the mushrooms release their savory essence, complementing the richness of the beef.

The result is a visually appealing and palate-pleasing dish that's perfect for a satisfying lunch or a memorable dinner. Cooking these kebabs is a breeze, offering versatility to suit your preferences. For a quick and easy method, broil them to a perfect medium-rare, ensuring the steak remains juicy and tender.

Alternatively, bake them in the oven for a more hands-off approach, or grill them over an open flame for a smoky char. Whichever method you choose, the kebabs will emerge as a culinary masterpiece. The Mediterranean-inspired seasonings create a vibrant and aromatic profile.

Consider pairing these kebabs with a refreshing Mediterranean salad for a complete and balanced lunch. For a heartier dinner, serve them alongside cauliflower rice, cauliflower mash, or steamed green broccoli. The mildness of these sides allows the flavors of the kebabs to truly shine.

The versatility of this recipe makes it a welcome addition to any table.

Instructions

    1.
Submerge 4 wooden kebab skewers in water and set aside to soak while you prepare the beef. Dice the steak into 16 even-sized chunks. Add the diced beef steak to a mixing bowl. Add the salt, rosemary, thyme, balsamic vinegar, and a tablespoon of the olive oil. Crush the garlic and add to the bowl. Mix everything together well to coat the beef. Cover and refrigerate to chill and marinate for 30 minutes.
    2.
Wipe the mushrooms clean. Slice each mushroom in half. You should have 16 mushroom halves. Thread a piece of marinated beef onto a prepared skewer, repeat with a mushroom half, another piece of beef, and another mushroom half. Repeat until each kebab holds 4 chunks of steak and 4 mushroom halves. Brush the mushrooms with the remaining oil and lightly season with a little salt.
    3.
Set the broiler to high and line a grill tray with foil. Arrange the kebabs across the lined grill tray. Broil for 3-4 minutes on each side or until the mushrooms are tender and the steak is cooked through to preference.
