Description

These air-fried zucchini chips offer a delightful alternative to traditional, heavier snacks. Each chip boasts a satisfying crunch, giving way to a tender zucchini center. The spice-infused coating creates a symphony of flavors that dance on your palate.

Imagine the subtle sweetness of zucchini enhanced by savory notes, a hint of warmth, and the sharpness of aged cheese. The preparation involves slicing fresh zucchini into delicate rounds, each destined to become a crispy delight. These slices are then treated to a bath of beaten egg, ensuring the spiced coating adheres beautifully.

The magic truly happens when these moistened rounds are generously enveloped in a mix of ground almonds, cheddar, parmesan, chili powder, and garlic powder. This careful coating process guarantees that every chip is imbued with the aromatic spices and savory cheesy goodness. Achieving the perfect crispness requires a little patience.

Arranging the coated zucchini slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer ensures that each chip receives ample air circulation, resulting in an even, golden-brown finish. You may need to work in batches, but the end result is well worth the effort. The aroma that fills your kitchen as these chips transform is simply irresistible.

The recipe includes a touch of chili powder, providing a gentle warmth that complements the other flavors. Feel free to customize the level of heat to your preference, adding more or less chili powder as desired. Whether you enjoy them as a guilt-free snack, a flavorful side dish, or a creative appetizer, these air-fried zucchini chips are sure to impress.

They're perfect for sharing with friends and family, or simply savoring on your own as a moment of pure culinary bliss.

Instructions

    1.
Slice the ends from the zucchini and discard. Slice the zucchini into 20 even discs roughly 1/5 of an inch thick. Arrange on a clean work surface.
    2.
Beat the egg in a small bowl. To a larger bowl, add the ground almonds, parmesan, cheddar, garlic powder, chili powder, salt and pepper. Mix well to combine.
    3.
Take one of the zucchini discs and submerge it in the beaten egg so that it is well coated. Then press the coated zucchini into the ground almond mixture so that it is liberally coated with breading on both sides. Repeat this process with the remaining zucchini chips.
    4.
Lightly oil the basket of your air fryer. Arrange half the coated zucchini chips in an even layer in the base of your air fryer basket. Place the basket in the air fryer and set the temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Set the timer for ten minutes.
    5.
Remove the first batch of zucchini chips from the air fryer. They should be crisp and golden. Set to one side whilst you bake the remaining chips.
